How to Play Fun3s.com

  • Use Arrow Keys or Swipe () on touch devices to move all tiles.
  • Combine the special blue 1 and red 2 tiles to make a white 3.
  • Merge identical white tiles (3+) to double their value (e.g., 3+3=6, 6+6=12...).
  • A new tile appears on the edge opposite your move direction after each slide. Check the 'Next' preview!
  • The game ends when the board is full and no more moves or merges are possible.
  • Aim for the highest score by making smart merges!

Tips & Strategy

  • Plan ahead. Think about where the new tile will appear.
  • Try to keep high-value tiles consolidated in one corner.
  • Create pairs of 1s and 2s strategically to form 3s where you need them.
  • Don't let the board get too cluttered with low-value tiles.
  • Sometimes, a move that doesn't merge anything is necessary to set up future merges.
  • Focus on making matches rather than just sliding tiles around.
  • Pay attention to the 'Next' tile preview!

Game Inspiration

Fun3s.com is inspired by the brilliant puzzle game Threes!, released in 2014 by Asher Vollmer, Greg Wohlwend, and Jimmy Hinson. Threes! was praised for its charming design and deep, challenging gameplay centered around the core mechanic of merging 1s and 2s to make 3s, and then merging identical tiles (3+3=6, 6+6=12, and so on).

The success and unique mechanics of Threes! quickly led to the creation of many other number-matching puzzle games. One of the most famous derivatives is 2048, created by Gabriele Cirulli, which uses a simpler merging mechanic (any identical tiles merge) and became a viral hit.

Other variations like 4096 and countless others also explored this sliding tile puzzle concept.
